I love my Breville. I have the regular size not the mini. It can hold a 9 x 13 pan. When I didn't have a kitchen for 4 years I used that and never had a problem with it.

I love mine, too. It's especially appreciated in the summer when temps are so high and I've no desire to turn on the oven!

I was given the Breville Smart oven when my toaster died. I wanted a smaller oven to do more chores than just toast. I luv this oven. In this cold weather when I make my dough for breads, etc., I put the bowl on top the oven set on a low temp and I always get a really fantastic rise.

I replaced my B & D toaster oven with a Breville Smart convection/toaster oven (the large one) ... worth the investment! I rarely use my large oven anymore because the Breville does such a great job! Besides toast (it does a wonderful even toasting job on both sides), I bake potatoes, roast veggies, bake chicken pieces/fish, heat up leftovers, make casseroles, bake cupcakes/cakes/cookies/bread, etc. I LOVE it!!!

Get the Oster Convection Oven from Walmart for $99.00. It does everything. You can put a 16 inch pizza in it. Also 9x13 pan fits in it. Toasts up to 8 slices of bread. Had mine for almost 2 years. Thinking of buying another one, before they don't carry them anymore. There are a lot of good reviews on it too

I checked some of the reviews on the Breville and many said that it gets really hot on the outside. I have quartz counter top and back splash and I would not want any damange done to that. Has anyone had any issues with it getting to hot. I don't want to have to babysit it.

Haven't read all the responses, but I'd recommend a toaster if you're just making toast and bagels.

I have a toaster for these types of things and a countertop oven for heating things up. I don't like a toaster oven for toast and such because the oven gets full of crumbs.

My toaster is Cuisinart and my countertop oven is KitchenAid. I would recommend both brands.

my youngest DD is the ""queen of the toaster oven"" and won't use a regular toaster; I bought her a Cuisinart one at Costco last Christmas and she loved it; she uses it to make all sorts of things...can't remember the price but it was less than most lesser brands at other stores.

When I was shopping for convection ovens, that was one of the main reasons I avoided that brand. I wanted something made well enough that it would not be excessively hot on the outside. This is why I chose my Calphalon XL Convection Oven. I have been loving it. None of the problems I read about the Breville brand have occurred with this one.

Sure, it will get warm on the outside (to the touch) but not so hot as to radiate heat around it, like the others do. But it's made really well - it's a tank - and it's attractive. But most of all it has been a wonderful addition to my kitchen. I cook mostly just for me, any more, and it's nice to be able to bake or broil something without cranking up the big oven. I've also used it for toast or toaster strudels (it has several modes) and it worked great for that too. But I wasn't looking for just a toaster oven. This was my first convection oven and I continue to love it. At least it has a pull-out tray on the bottom for when I toast something. That is helpful. They probably all have that, though.

Got the Breville Smart oven a couple of years ago and use my regular oven maybe once a year. It toasts great but I found I use it daily for lots of things. Roast all my veggies in it and do the pizzas that will fit in a 13" pan. Have never had a problem with it.

Find I don't use my microwave that often anymore either as I can do so much in the Breville, and really enjoy the convection aspect that I didn't think I would ever even try. Go figure.

I keep my Breville on a wood butcher block type table and have NEVER had any problems with is getting too hot or scorching- I would never buy another brand after owning the Breville... It is THAT good!
