Hi Nantucket Shore, I was wondering if you could help me with a gravy/juice that'd be used in a pressure cooker with top round steak? The main thing my brother and I can recall is that my mom added orange juice to the pressure cooker, but I have no idea about what else may've been added? We were wondering if you'd think it was beef stock/broth, possibly a cup of orange juice, maybe a tablespoon of brown sugar? The steak is just over 2lbs. All we know was that it was something my mom made in the 1970s and 1980s and now that my bro bought a pressure cooker we're needing someone who knows what they're talking about. We recall the delicious steak tasting so great, I believe it was really a simple thing and we remember it was more of a juice in the pressure cooker, not a gravy, but it was so GREAT! We can't quite call it a Swiss Steak, but it's possible that there were onions in it, too.
I recall that you and your family know a lot about cooking and I can't find anything online or anyone that I know who can cook, period, so there's no one to ask!
Can you share what you'd attempt to add if all you knew was that orange juice was added to the pressure cooker to add flavor to the steak? What minimal ingredients would you use to get an awesome flavor? Brown sugar was something that I thought of, but I can't say that what we remember was sweet? Any help would be appreciated...Hopefully, you'll see my post! Happy New Year!

Bump! Have any of the good cooks on here heard of what I tried to describe in my initial post, lol? Please help and thank you in advance. We're having fun with the pressure cooker, I think that I may add a cup of OJ and some other "helpful" ingredients and let that steam into the steak.

Sorry it took me so long, working on taxes and trying to find a puppy since I lost mine.
Anyhow, mom and grandma used the following but there's no measurements..you know how that is
white sugar (not much)
salt, pepper, garlic smashed, oil, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, mustard
that's it I believe, I don't care for mustard so it's a small amount for me, but overall it tenderizes the steak and hope it turns out for you.
