I ordered it in September during the height of covid.  WHEN it was finally delivered, in October, I have done a few items in the oven and it seems to be 100 degrees off.

I've baked items including cakes which don't rise properly.

Called the mgf. company today since we're under warrenty.  Surprised they're sending a repair team instead of replacing.  Oh well.  At least it got me into the store and I picked out our next range.Smiley Happy

Ever dealt with a warrenty company over a major appliance???

We bought KitchenAid double convection ovens about 20 years ago. It was the fancy one with a probe that would turn off the oven when the roast was done.

Except we could NOT get the probe to work.  I called and called and finally got to the technical people who FINALLY said "Oh, but the probe won't work if both ovens are on."

Excuse me?  I am fixing a holiday meal with a prime rib roast and I can't make the sides at the same time and get the probe to work?  I said come get it and after a few tense minutes they agreed.  Nothing in their advertising material or instruction books mentioned that little detail. Hubby was livid that for want of an inexpensive part that was the situation.

We bought Thermador ovens and they were wonderful! I loved that kitchen so much!  Hated to move away from it.

I had an air conditioner that lasted a little more than a year and because it was at the end of the season I stupidly waited to call about it.  Not sure what I was thinking.  Maybe it would come back to life after sleeping all winter?

Either way I waited until this spring to deal with it.  The company sent out a repair person who diagnosed the problem and told me that he had to submit his report and they warranty company would decide to repair or replace it.

The final report was it was not fixable.  In the end they decided to give me a credit because they would have to replace it with the same model and they were not available because of the situation in China.  More than likely that was the same situation with replacement parts.

Dealing with the warranty company was not bad.  But it took longer expected.  When I called I was told that they had 5 business days to decide and the repair people took 3 days to submit the report.

I ended up buying a different brand because this was the 3rd unit that I've had trouble with.  So far the new one  lasted all summer.  If it dies next summer I'll just move.

No.  Knock on wood.

I'm curious to know the manufacturer.

@ECBG Fingers crossed the repair team just needs to recalibrate the thermostat --  and that they actually know how to do that!

Re: My "New" Range

[ Edited ]

I ordered a new KitchenAid gas range & 26 cu. ft. French door fridge on 9-10-20 & I'm still waiting for them to come in.  Ordered a new KitchenAid over the range microwave & dishwasher at the same time & both have been delivered & installed, but not sure when the new range & fridge will get here.  Spoke to my salesman last week, & he checked & said maybe around 12-23, but not sure.  Everything is backordered & shipments are slow due to parts coming from overseas.

It's a pain, as I've been trying to have as little as possible in my current fridge & freezer to move to the new one when it comes & have enough space in my upright freezer for the frozen stuff.  I don't want to have the freezer totally empty so it can run efficiently, but have tried to use most of it up so I'll just have a little bit to migrate to the upright until the new one gets here & the fridge & freezer come to temperature.  Trying not to keep too much in the fridge as I don't have a huge ice chest cooler to put stuff in during the transition.  It's a pain not knowing when it all will be here.  Once they come in, it will have to be scheduled for delivery & install & they're super busy, so it may be several days or a week before it can be delivered.  Fortunately, nothing is broken or urgently needed, which would make it much worse..

I bought a new stove and furnace, and BOTH TIMES the installers forgot to remove the natural gas nozzles and replace with the required propane size.

Why wouldn't they send a repair person out first?  It's only 2 months old, shouldn't require automatic replacement of the appliance.
