If the vinegar and water soak doesn't do the trick, the next step is to put baking soda on a damp paper towel and use it to scrub the inside of the container, one small section at a time. Once the container is clear again, then do the following to keep it clear:
After running warm water and soap in the container to clean it, do not empty it. Instead, use a bottle brush to whisk around the surface of the container's interior and over the blades as well.
Rinse well when finished, and never ever air dry your container. Instead of air drying, use a microfiber cloth to dry the interior and exterior of the container. You can also wipe off the top of the blades. The only sharp part of the blades are the tips, the blade sides are not sharp.
I have Vitamix containers as old as 13 years, and they are as crystal clear today as the day I got them. The blades are sparkling clean as well. I have never had to go through the vinegar/water soak or use baking soda to clean them because I always use a bottle brush after running a cleaning cycle, and I always wipe them dry with a microfiber cloth.
Using a bottle brush when cleaning and a microfiber cloth to dry the containers does take a little bit longer than just rinsing out the container and letting it air dry; however, prevention takes a lot less time than cleaning up a container that has become cloudy.
Some folks don't mind a cloudy container as long as they know it's a clean container. Others can't stand a cloudy container. I admit to being in the latter category.

He told me next time to put the cubes of Parm cheese in through the hole in the top with the motor running, instead of in the container before I start blending. Maybe that info will help somebody else. Thank you Vitamix.
Thank you for this. I grate Parmesan cheese all the time in my Vitamix. I will look closely to see if there are any cracks and then I'll change how I do it.
