The meals you are making sound delicious. Keep having fun. I love being retired so ai have the time to do what I want at home.
Yes, it is in the book, @MKR14, but here's an abbreviated version so you can move ahead!
If you're being health-conscious, I know how important it is to have some hard-boiled eggs on hand... These cookers make eating healthy a real breeze, and the variety is endless! That's what makes the difference here. I could cook away in my larger cookers, but who wants to eat the same thing for a week!![]()
HARD BOILED EGGS
1 - 4 refrigerated large eggs
1 1/2 cups room temperature water (or enough to cover eggs)
Place eggs in cooker. Add cover, press COOK. Set kitchen timer for 20 minutes. When timer rings drain water (use potholder, please). Shake cooker insert back and forth to crack eggs all over, run cold water over eggs and peel starting at the fat end of egg...letting cool water stream over eggs to help with removing shell. Use eggs as desired. Can be stored refrigerated up to seven days.
Soft boiled...15 mins. and peel carefully, if desired.
Your pup is a sweetie! Shih Tzus are such a special breed IMO. My boy Seppi has gone to doggie heaven now, but should I ever venture out with another dog, it will be another Shih Tzu. The UPS guy is one lucky fella!![]()

Thanks Gokat. That was nice of you to post as I am sure many of us wanted to try that too. I copied and pasted it as my book probably won't make it here until Monday. We have many thoughtful people on this forum. Wouldn't be nice if we were in the same neighborhood? I am in cold upstate NY. I guess we are in the neighborhood of loving to eat and healthy too. That doesn't mean we can't have a treat once in a while. I will just find a low fat treat now.
Thanks for the kind words about Precious. When I went to look at the puppies she came up to me and looked right up at me. I told her she was Precious and she has been just that. She was the runt. She has never had an accident in the house since I brought her home. She has never growled or snipped at one person. Now bring the mailman close to the house and she goes nuts but loves the UPS man. I bought her brother for my daughter and her family. Now that is another story. The complete opposite of Precious and weighs 18 lbs. Shih-Tzus are also non shedding as when I worked for the Allergist this is the type of dogs that the doctor would suggest to patients looking for a dog. Everyone wants to bring Precious home. ![]()

Would you please share your directions + amount & timing for your omelet?
I know, I want the whole shebang, but I do love omelets and want to get it right
Absolutely @Noel7 but it was basically chopped up deli ham (one slice), chopped up salami (one slice), chopped up swiss cheese (one slice), one green onion sliced and then one large scrambled egg (I call it "what do I have in the fridge" omelet).
I scrambled the egg right in the bowl and then added the chopped ingredients (made sure they were evenly distributed) and hit cook. I waited for it to switch to warm on its own and it came out perfectly.
I was worried that it may stick a bit because I didn't use butter but it slid right out. Earlier today I made a sweet chili sauce marinated boneless pork chop in it and it was perfectly cooked. Nice browning on both side with a touch of gravy. I was concerned because some of the chili sauce had really stuck to the bowl but a quick soak and it's perfectly clean. I think this is a fantastic little appliance!
Please let me know if you have any questions Noel, I'd be more than happy to help!

Oh, thank you so much, @momtochloe !
It really is pretty easy, it's the timing I was really worried about, that and if you'd had to do something special about the ingredients.
I hope we have eggs left, but we have to go shopping tomorrow anyway. Big storm said to be coming out way, warnings of blackouts, perhaps no power for quite some time.
The pork chop also sounds good ![]()

My thoughts are with you @Noel7 as I know what it is like to be without power for a long period of time. I have to say ComEd has really stepped up and I have not been suffering such extended power outages but again my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your neighbors.
I have a bit of a lesson when using the steamer . . . because someone (me) kept lifting the lid to see if the veggie was steamed or to check if the water had boiled out the first time around I really hosed the cooking cycle.
Please know if you add the amount of water as specified in the manual you should be good to go in terms of proper water amount and by not lifting the lid every minute (like me) the steaming time is maybe 15-20 minutes and does a great job.
Take care my friend, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers . . . ![]()
