My Kitchen Challanged DD Is Baking....

a Chocolate Chip Sour Cream Coffee Cake. I'm shocked.  She dislikes cooking and baking.  She would rather clean the kitchen (or any other room for that matter) than use it for its intended purpose. lol

Ask her anything about Labor Law and she can tell you, cooking/baking,well, it's not her thing.

I'm not going to complain, I get to eat  cake I didn't have to make.

I made a pot of potato soup so supper is ready.  We can have cake and coffee later tonight.

And, my son came over and plowed us out.

All and all, not a bad Saturday.

@CrazyKittyLvr2  Enjoy that cake and coffee this evening.

I enjoy baking, I've been int the kitchen all day...I just discoverd that i used a T of baking soda instead of baking powder cookie dough, ugh.  They look like biscuits instead of a cookie....I hate it when I do stupid stuff like that.

@Mom2Dogs

I have been there and done that!  It happens to the most accomplished cooks.  I bet it won't happen again.

@maximillian   Glad I'm not the only one, lol...I usually get all ingredients out before I start mixing, I didn't follow my own rules.  The cookies were for DH he likes lemon, so I a hoping the lemon flavored frosting makes up for the mistake, if not, in the trash they go.

edited to fix typo

@alicedee   I'll set another place.  The potato soup turned out great of I do say so myself.

I'm anxious to see how her cake turns out.  It is in the oven and smells wonderful.

@Mom2Dogs   I've forgotten or grabbed the wrong thing too.

My biggest boo boo was forgetting to put the tuna in a tuna noodle casserole.  LOL   Don't think I didn't question my sanity that day,  I have no idea where my brain was.

Bless you.  We've all done things like that.  At least you have time to recover.

I've made silly mistakes like that, too. It's so irritating at the time, but makes for a funny story! Like your casserole @CrazyKittyLvr2

Enjoy your evening, it sounds like a wonderful way to spend a winter night!

Re: My Kitchen Challanged DD Is Baking....

It's easy to do things like that when baking or cooking. I made banana muffins a couple of weeks ago....had the eggs whisked and in a little dish sitting to the side, and noticed them still in the dish after I had put the muffins in the oven. Oh well! I thought they were a little "off" - DH said they tasted fine!
