I would be so bummedWoman Indifferent and would buy another Breville---mine is 5 years old too and that's what I only use--my big oven is for storage---I will go for another Breville, but maybe with more bells and whistles--mine now, doesn't have  light.

Something so expensive should last way more then five years, even with daily use.

Had  Breville oven for years and recently switched to Brava, high tech and high Pricepoint yet an investment piece

@feline groovy ...............I agree they should but from what I have read, seen and heard from friends.  Five years for an appliance is not unusual these days.

 

IMO its planned obsolescence.

No question I would buy another Breville if mine died. I think Breville makes excellent appliances. They're pricey but worth it.
