I have this one--BB8.jpgas well as a 6 qt----the little one is painted to look like BB8--orange and white--from the lastest, newest Star Wars movies--anyway, I digress-------I use it alot  for making rice--is excellent but as the pot is stainless steel, stuff sticks to it. I bought a ceramic insert recently for it and ----the angels are singing---nothing sticks. Really a good accessory---will get one for my 6 qt.

My little splurge !!

Sorry to hear that. Could you set your Instant Pot in your kitchen sink? If so that would make it easier for you to see. Hopefully the cord would be long enough for you to be able to do that. If not you could purchase an extension cord - make sure it's an appropriate one for carrying the amount of power the IP uses. Also check "step stool" on Amazon for a variety of step stools of different heights. Prices are quite reasonable.

I hope you love your Instant Pots as much as I love mine. They have changed the way I cook. Whenever I want to cook something I check on Google to see if there's a pressure cooked version of it. Frequently there are several. I check them out and make the one I think sounds the most appealing.

I have both 3-quart and 6-quart Instant Pots though most frequently use just the 6-quart. I purchased both for times I want to make something like pot roast and mashed potatoes.

Any of you reading this who don't own an Instant Pot, I encourage you to get one. There are thousands of Instant Pot recipes on the Internet, and many bloggers with a pressure cooking focus - also many cookbooks - I own more than 100 (see, I do love my Instant Pot)! Finally, check out the numerous YouTube pressure cooking recipe videos. I especially enjoy those by Jeffrey Eisner of Pressure Luck Cooking. He has great recipes and his videos are interesting and a lot of fun. Jeffrey has 409 thousand subscribers - see, I'm not the only one crazy about pressure cooking. Also enjoy those of Kristen Chidsey of A Mind Full Mom

@Razzy 7 why would you suggest putting a plugged in electrical appliance in the sink?

You don’t need to see the top of it while it’s plugged in.

I had a very large (and heavy) Instant Pot.  Paid, I think, a little over $150.  Never used it.  Always was reaching for my crock pot.  I kept putting it in our garage sale year after year and hardly ever given a glance.  Finally sold it this year.  $45.

I have been cooking with some sort of pressure cooker all my life--I learned on the old Presto stove top ones when I was in 5th grade. Then in the 90's pressure cookers became electric and that is when I really got into cooking that way again. I have the 3 qt and the 6 qt Instant Pot brand now but had a couple from the Q as well. My 6qt is a new version one. I do use my crock pot too, but really enjoy the pressures cookers for speed.

@wagirl I still use the old school, stove top jiggle pressure cooker!

Yes, fantastic idea to put an electrical appliance in a sink with a faucet right there.  Every firefighters dream.
