Milk Chocolate versus Semi Sweet...

I am not a Betty Crocker, so I have a silly question.

I am looking for a fudge recipe and alot of the recipes I find it uses semi sweet choco chips, wouldn't that make it bitter tasting as opposed to using milk choco chips?
