I've just gotten a new microwave/convection oven which has a turntable. My old one didn't. I know I have to leave the turntable in for microwave cooking, but do I have to remove it for straight convection cooking?
The manual doesn't give any instructions other than to leave it for microwaving. I don't want the turntable to break or for anything to melt....
Thanks in advance for your help!

I don't think you would need it for convection cooking at all-but when in doubt, I'd ask the manufacturer.

Hi Charade
I have a GE Profile Convection/Micro oven, I leave the turntable (glass) in at all times, just remember to put the oven rack(s) in before pre-heating, & turntable can be turned off, hope this helps, don't know if other brands are different. Love mine, use the oven more than the micro. Enjoy

Thanks spix, that's the exact same one I just got. It's replacing my old GE micro/convection that I had for 22 years. Hope this one lasts as long.

I leave mine in also.
