@Robertak Welcome!🥰 That is the BEST way to cook a good seared steak! I am certain you have GREAT results!😊
THANK you SO much for caring to share today!🤗

If you can't cook it on the grill cook it in a cast iron skillet.
DH made Filet Mignon in a cast iron skillet per Blue Jean Chef's instructions. It turned out perfect.
I keep telling my younger sister to try it. She steams her steak? She says that's the only way it turns out tender. Not how I want my steak cooked. She just needs to learn how to cook.

Medium rare, always with a nice glass of red wine. I season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. No need to be fancy with steak seasonings as the sear IMO is the most important part.
We do a bit of wine-oriented travel and I always save our best bottles for steak dinners... it is a match made in heaven.

@SportyShorty07 You are MOST welcome!❤ We had been quite fortunate here in the PNW with seasonal temps in the 50's, 60's then a few days in the 70's, including a perfect July 4th!The weather was absolutely perfect, with spectaular fireworks displays! In contrast, it was 88 today and will be HOT through next week.😊
After the MANY great ways to prepare steaks that everyone shared here, my family decided on ribs and chicken, while I had my usual salmon!😁 THANK you SO much for the well weather wishes!🥰 I hope you are managing to stay cool as well!👍

@SandySparkles I'm glad that you had a wonderful 4th of July and a delicious dinner! The weather in PNW sounds very nice- here in the Bay Area, its heated up and I run hot! I've been drinking water, running the fan and I've been wearing a tank top and shorts in doors all week . As long as I drink cold water, I'll be able to beat this mini heat wave. Thank you for your warm wishes, Sandy Sparkles!

He's a really good cook. We had to figure out how to cook together after we got married since neither of us had a clue? Now I think we are both pretty good cooks.
Thanks for replying. I think you are pretty sweet replying to each post. I don't think most of us do that. Takes a lot of time.
Enjoy your 4th of July Holiday.
@Nightowlz Welcome!🥰 I like reading that BOTH of you are now good cooks!❤ That comes in handy for holiday cooking especially!😁 THANK you for the kind words!😊
I have always REALLY appreciated posters for taking the time to visit the threads, so I welcome everyone, and try to respond if I can.😁 I have been gone for the holiday and will try to catch up if I am able! @Nightowlz Welcome back!🥰I smiled at your younger sister steaming her steak!😁 I do not know why, but I thought of baby food! I have never had steak prepared that way that I am aware of, and am doubtful that if I ever eat meat again, I would eat it that way!😁
THANK you SO much for revisiting and caring to share such a GREAT tip with us!🤗

@sullim4 Welcome!🥰 WOW! When I was younger and a wine drinker, I would have LOVED❤ a wine oriented travel tour. I can imagine you have acquired a wealth of wine knowledge, and are quite discerning!😁
THANK you SO much for caring to share your experience!🤗

Myhusband and I like a good Steak, and we like to marinate it and use a dry rub. Hubby loves to season and does a good job with it...
We both love our Steaks Well Done! We do use tenderizer and garlic butter as well....
I love it best on the Grill, but we also like to do them in the Slow Cooker, they come out so tender!
