A lady use to sell this fudge at a local festival. Never could get the recipe. The town put out a cookbook, and her mother put the recipe in the cookbook. So now you have it.
Chocolate Fudge
6 cups sugar
1 1/2 c Hershey's Cocoa
1 1/3 sticks butter
1 large can of evaporated milk
1/2 c whole milk
2 t vanilla
Lightly butter a 9 by 13 inch pan and set aside. Mix all the ingredients in a large 6 qt saucepan. Cook on from low to medium heat until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and beat rapidly for several minutes with a spoon. Fold in one cup of chopped nuts and pour in the prepared pan. Cut fudge in squares while still warm. After fudge has cooled, store in a covered container. ( I like to toast my pecans or whatever nut I use)
This makes the hard old fashioned grainy fudge.
