I mainly just use mesquite and hickory chips. Tried apple one time and didn't like it at all. Got a cheap smoker, but, you have to open a door to restock the wood all the time, not as handy as this one will be. my cheap one you have to fill up the water bowl too.

You probably never ate smoked and seasoned food LOL fine eating !

Are you referring to my post? If so, we smoke food all the time, pulled pork, brisket, ribs, Thanksgiving turkey for the last 20+ years, salmon, standing rib roasts. I just prefer actual wood smoking instead of baked in an electric oven with some chips. None of the food I saw in the presentations showed a noticeable smoke ring either.

The only cleanup I do is the water pan and food racks. Soak them in warm soapy water and they clean up real good. Don't have the glass door so can't comment on that. But I don't clean the interior. In my opinion, that adds to the taste of the food.

We have both types of smokers. I prefer the food from the Masterbuilt. As I have gotten older I don't care to eat it when it's too much smoked. It bothers my stomach. It still has a nice wood smoked flavor from the Masterbuilt. You can adjust that by how often you add the chips.

Let the bark build up on the walls unless you don't want it like that. DH cleans the racks outside in a big plastic storage container with dawn. Use a spray bottle with 50/50 mixture of hot water and apple cider vinegar; shake to mix well to clean the glass, outside, seal etc.

You going to love it! We've had one for several years and use it alot. Putting ribs, carrots, onions, and butternut squash in it today.

Hubby and his best friend built a stand with wheels so we could move it easily and it also makes it higher. Now I see today Masterbuilt has made one.

Enjoy!!

The stand would come in handy to get it up off the ground. Ours did not have wheels so DH took off the feet & put wheels on it.

I plan on cleaning the glass door and putting racks in dishwasher should be all there is to it.

You should try some pecan and some cherry wood. Yum!!! Here is a link on Q that shows what woods they recommend. Click on the Wood Smoking Guide when the link opens. http://www.qvc.com/Masterbuilt-30-4-Rack-Electric-Smoker-wCover,-Recipes-&-Accessories.product.K4114...
