I'm interested in getting this new smoker but wondering how you clean the inside?

I just asked my husband. He only cleans the racks (you can take those out and hand wash them). The bottom pan will have grease in it just depose of that and put the pan in dishwasher.

That's how DH cleans our Masterbuilt. He does not clean the interior. Just cleans the racks & pans. This was in the manual that comes with it & a Tip on their Facebook page.

Cleaning Instructions in the Manual

For cooking racks, water bowl and drip tray use a mild dish detergent. Rinse and dry thoroughly.

For wood chip holder and wood chip loader, clean frequently to remove ash build up, residue and dust.

For the interior, meat probe, and exterior of smoker simply wipe down with a damp cloth.

Do not use a cleaning agent. Make sure to dry thoroughly.

Door seal and inside seam that seal attaches to MUST be cleaned after each use to keep seal in proper

working condition.

This tip is on their Facebook page on cleaning the interior. Tip: best way to clean your smoker is with a 50/50 mixture of apple cider vinegar and hot water. Cuts right threw the smoke residue.

Contrary to the above answers, the pros want a bark to form on the smoker and don't consider it ready to compete for at least a year of smoking! I wash the drip pan and racks if needed and the seal that's it! Sonnie

That's why we only wash the racks, pans & seal. Kind of like having a seasoned cast iron skillet or our offset smoker which we don't use much since we bought the Masterbuilt. As I have gotten older I don't like what we smoke to have too much smoky flavor which most restaurants bbq has too much smoky flavor. It turns out just right from the Masterbuilt.

Thanks for your replies. I ordered the one they showed today and am excited about trying it. I'm glad there is not alot of cleaning involved.
