@forsythia1 Are you thinking of when the hydroponic gardens were setting off some alarms during In the Kitchen with David?

Ever since I witnessed that peeler completely fall apart when demonstrated (just a regular ol' small russet potato too!) I have no faith in anything he brings to ITKWD or M.  His integrity and the lame gadgets are a waste of $.

JS (just sayin')

   One bad product.

He also represents Kuhn Rikon, their products are not lame or a waste of $$$

@Reever  are you trying to bait people?  You have started a few,discussions on the forums and they are all knocking QVC host or vendors.

Please try not to be so negative.  It’s not good for your health.

carmie, I didn't not start the discussion nor am I trying to bait people. The original poster expressed a disinterest in seeing Mark Charles and I happened to agree with her. To each their own. I'm an avid TV watcher. I trust the gadget guy on COOKS Country on PBS and even sent a letter to QVC for them to considering hiring him. I think he's not fantastic and I've used his recommendations for many items.

@Reever, "disdain"? Seriously.

WHAT IS A SNAKE OIL SALESMAN?

@princesess, it's a very common expression to describe a person who sells fraudulent products -- a quack, a fraud, a charlatan.

The origin of the expression is interesting. You might google it.

It may have been a faulty product.  I would be flustered if I was in his position and it always worked before.  I have met the man and have found him to be an honest, down to earth, caring person.  He appears to really care about what he does which may be why he reacted the way he did, it took him by surprise.

I have many of the items he has shown, and given them as gifts, without any complaints.  No one is perfect.

I don't watch the cooking shows, but have seen threads about this faulty peeler.  IMO, when a product continues to fail during a presentation, the Q should pull that product from their inventory.  It is dishonest to do otherwise.
