Making cookies...flavoring extract question...

I was going to make a peppermint bar cookie that a poster put on recipe swap and so I went to the grocery to get what I needed. I was looking for peppermint extract but all I could find was 'mint' extract, is that the same thing or do I need 'peppermint' extract? The recipe was funkyhulagirl's recipe........at least i think that is her name. Any advice appreciated as I'm ready to do some baking! Thanks!!
