Making a rum cake with the new smaller boxes of cake mix?

I have a recipe for the old 18 oz box. I have a new 16.5 oz. box of cake mix and they're sneaky because that six looks like an 8! I find that so insulting to the consumer. I also found a recipe online using the new 16.5 oz. size. Has anyone noticed a difference in taste with the lower size? I only have one cake mix box so I can't take from another to make it even out. Thanks for any suggestions!
