Morning everyone! Mashed pots for Thanksgiving is my nemesis! I have made glue, wall paper paste and watery potato soup! I have been collecting all of your suggestions over time and will now be using my old hand masher so I don't whip up glue. I have purchased a combo of Russet and Yukon gold for this year. I will be using half & half (w/ some sour cream/greek yogurt) and not skim milk! Thanks for all this info!
My concern is the water when boiling the pots... last time I made them I did throw them back in the hot pot to try and get more water out of them. This helped..but not totally. The pots kinda still had a watery taste...to me.
I was wondering....has anyone ever BAKED the pots ahead of time and then mashed them instead of water boiling? Do you think this would work? TIA for any ideas!
