Re: Low Sugar - Low Carb … enough

David may be late to the party. Many doing the low sugar / low carb eating plan have moved on and adjusted their eating plans due to the recent health risks associated with the high-fat portion of true keto. DH's cardiologist has advised him to do way more plant- based meals and use red meat or bacon as garnish for his big salads or other meals, So far, it is working great for him. Chicken and fish is still okay for full- sized portions. I wish David much success.

I have to agree, enough already.  I tuned in off and on today for ITKWD and every food presentation he mentioned his diet.  I am just waiting for qvc to cash in and exploit his journey however they can.  I am happy for him, but we don't need to constantly hear about it.

Has David ever shared if he has diabetes?

I have managed to curb my appetite and maintain my weight loss for three or more years.  I never thought I would be able to do that.

@tansy   I know David has been working with his doctor on his "health journey" & what/how he eats - I don't think he's mentioned diabetes.  I'm thinking that David's dad died when he was young so maybe something in the genes?  Anyway, I like David & hope whatever he's doing keeps him healthy & happy.

I could not agree more!!  In this new year we have all these celebs dropping 35-40 lbs., and let's face it, it is not from low carb, low sugar.  How about being honest and saying you used Ozempic or the other drugs that have come out.

Not a fan of his anyway and that show is stale and predictable and am so done with his preaching the low carb/sugar diet he has been for what seems like years!!! Good for him for having a come to jeezus moment about weight loss--but enough already!!!

I can't watch David anymore...since he has become a " weight loss preacher".even his smile looks phony ..I rather see a different host do the show.

Re: Low Sugar - Low Carb … enough

I guess I just don't understand why celebrities or anyone owe us a reason as to why or how they lost weight. It did make me angry when celebs and other rich people bought the diabetes meds to the extent that diabetics could not get the medicine they NEEDED, not just wanted. Unfortunately, many of them will gain it all back since they went for the "quick fix" and didn't really change their eating. But, everyone knows that.

It's still hard to see how people get so totally famous for their weight losses or gains that  it really destroys them. I think of Richard Simmons who ended up being a reclusive and no one has seen him in years because he probably gained weight.  We have seen lovely Leah lose and then gain back a lot of her weight. She didn't talk about it endlessly, unlike David. One of the issues I have with David is that he gives out a lot of information that, while it may work for him, is not nutritionally correct and many of his viewers will do whatever he says, as if he is a nutritionist.
