If you prefer white wine try a Riesling. This is a good one and can get Riesling or Sweet Riesling. Not overly sweet or dry and quite good.

Thank you!  I will have to look for this brand.  I believe I have had Riseling in the past and it was lovely.  Thanks for reminding me of this.

Not surprising that you started with a white wine that was sweet and are progressing to a less sweet or dry white.

You may enjoy either Cupcake’s or Cavit’s Pinot Grigio.  They are smooth and best enjoyed chilled.

The only time I have red wine now is with the occasional steak dinner.

@jlkz

Thank you for your suggestions.  I will have to give them a try.  When I go looking at wine, I am like a kid in a candy store. They are all so intriguing and I want to try them at all but of course, I have generally speaking, no idea what I am doing!!!

If you like a slightly sweet wine, you could try a Rose'... but you have to make sure it contains some moscato, so it's not too dry... I love Kevin Olearys rose' ... I think it has just the right amount of sweetness, but not too sweet.... JMO...

I also like  his Chardonnay.. which contains a small amount of sweetness... unlike others...it's not too dry..

His Reisling is great too... not too dry..

I, myself, prefer a red wine, but Kevin's whites are good... IMO...

@ptagirl

I have wondered about his wines.  Glad to hear that you think they are good. Thank you for your suggestions!!! Very helpufl!!

Your local wine store may be able to provide you of some good recommendations of wine that they have in stock. I've found a few great wines after having a discussion on what I like and what I'm serving.

@AngelPuppy1

And, sometimes the associates there don’t all know what they are trying to sell !

Don't be intimidated: try some of the suggestions here and when you find something you like, ask the sales staff to compare the unknown to the known wine you like.

Then, keep a notebook or file ( labels or pictures from the wines you have tried ) with your comments affixed.

It is the way DH and I got to learn about wines: bit by bit.  Now with iPad and cellphones, it is even easier !

Good Luck !
