Does anyone have any ideas on what to buy to regularly use in the microwave for re-heating etc.? My original Nordicware set of microwavable bowls and lids are no longer useable and I can't seem to find anything to replace it. Would love your input! Thanks!

I have a bunch of Tupperware Rock n Serve that I use for microwave heating. The Rock n Serve is an older line (but you can still find it in all sizes) that was made for microwave use, so it's the hard plastic (not the type that gets peely) and will last forever. They all come with seals and they have a pop-open deal for microwave use, or you can close that to store in the refrigerator. It's not airtight, like Lock & Lock, though so I generally don't use it for storage unless it's just one day.
I also use Lock & Lock GLASS (don't put the L&L plastic in the microwave!) that works very well. It's Borosilicate glass, so it's like the old Pyrex that was indestructible.
Otherwise, Fiesta items go in the microwave well. I often use one or another Fiesta bowl to heat something up.
Lots of great choices. ![]()

You can pretty much use anything that doesn't say "not for the microwave," just don't use metal or plates with a gold or silver edge.
I use my regular plates and bowls all the time (usually Fiestaware).
For heating liquid, I usually use a Pyrex measuring cup in any appropriate size.

I use Corningware white.

We use paper plates. Guess it depends on what you're reheating. Glass works too. Microwave basics had us using those type of things. I'd say check the dish bottom if it's anything else to see if it says microwave safe on it.

I never use plastic in the microwave, as no one can convince me that molecules of plastic don't get into the food. I usually reach for a glass container or one of our stoneware dishes.
The original Corningware we had heated up too much in the microwave. Perhaps the newer versions are better. I'd definitely go Corning, if it didn't get too hot. Perhaps others can advise on this, as Corning can be used for so many applications.
