I ordered three nesting sets of these (trying to get my kitchen organized).
Are they safe to use in the freezer?
In one of the sets, the second smallest square container came without one of the tabs. I'm thinking it's not worth it to send the whole set back. What do you think? Can I still use it in the refrigerator?
TIA! ![]()

yes, i use them in the freezer all the time.
call customer service and ask if they can give you a credit for the one that is not usable. tell them you prefer not having to pack them all back up. yes, you would still be able to use it in the refrigerator but it probably wont be a tight lock.
if qvc customer service doesnt help you then try contacting lock and lock for a lid. it cannot hurt to try!

I believe folks have had success getting a spare lid from Lock & Lock.
I just wanted to add that I am a big fan of Lock & Locks and have had them for many years. Over the years after many times being dropped, we have broken off a tab. This mainly happens on the glass or porcelain L & L (or similar type with the tabs) as the weight of the bowl is too much for the tab when dropped. I am not sure we have broken a tab on a plastic L & L set. Anyway, even with the three tabs, we have had success with using L & L in the fridge and freezer. Three tabs still makes a fairly solid seal. Now I am not sure I would let it get upside down with liquid in it as the seal is not perfect, but I have not had any trouble with normal use of a L & L with a missing tab.
Good luck!

I have lots of "tripod" lids after all these years..especially the round ones , some tabs seem kind of "weak" and eventually snap off..I still use them in the fridge, but dont try turning them upside down, LOL!!!

Same here. I've found they're still usable as long as they're upright.
