Was very excited to get this, only to discover that if your crust "lays" on the top ege of the pie dish, the lid will not fit let alone lock!
So, in other words, your crust (edges)must be VERTICAL, and lower than the top of the dish,(are you picturing this?) and not ever be perpendicular to the main part of the pie...
OK, I guess now that I KNOW that, I can adapt, but its pretty weird..
I dont know WHAT I was thinking....,

It might have been presented more than once but on the presentation I watched, the vendor explained that part in detail. She had a pie that she had made and she showed how to arrange the crust so that the lid will fit properly.

I had a pie dish like this once. The ceramic top looked like the top of an real pie. It was more for show than an actual pie -- aka useless.

Thanks, I did buy it pretty quickly without watching the whole presentation..I WILL be able to do it..But I had just made a beautiful crust and prebaked the shell ( with my handy Wilton Braided Crust mold!)
I had visions of putting the lid on this one and bringing that tomato pie in to work, but oh well, tinfoil to the rescue!
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.... look at it closely before you use it..

How you doing!!!! Anyway I just want a piece of that pie.
Love L & L but always have some problem with their glass items so I don't even look.

I am great! hope you are too- I made a tomato pie and boy does that pie pan hold a lot- I had to pick more tomatoes than I planned since the squirrels (or rats or raccoons) have discovered them..They never notice them till they start to turn red...they are smart, LOL . but I needed about 6 large to fill that pan-
But the tomato pie turned out great, I made the crust in the KitchenAid stsnd mixer, Laura Weathers was right, easy as "pie" to do...
Got a cool gadget from Wilton that mles the most awesome lattice and edges for pies..
Cant wait to try again!
good to "see" you!
