I'm surprised at how many of you listed bay leaves. I've never been exactly sure why or when to use them.

My list is similar to most here...

A lucky find I made....ALDI's used to sell whole peppercorns with a grinder top you could remove.

After I used the pepper, I put whole cloves in that bottle I can easily grind them into my dishes!

Then, they eliminated the screw off top on the peppercorns because too many people, like me,on opening the bottle for the first time and removing the shrink wrapping, accidently opened the screw off top and voila!!! 100,000 peppercorns on the kitchen floor!!!

Don't ask how I know. Did mine in the garage and STILL find a peppercorn hiding somewhere!!!!
