I have been using it for years-hickory is what most grocers carry, but I found more flavors by Colgin on Amazon. The Apple is delicious...the other flavors I can't vouch for because my kids used them up before I could even try them-even when my daughter was an avowed vegan! She made an awesome mushroom burger with it.

Thanks @Poodlepet2 for the suggestion of Colgin on Amazon.  I have only found hickory in Wegman's and would LOVE to try other flavors!  Thanks for sharing!

I love liquid smoke and use it for our smoker marinades, soups, stews, chilis...you name it!

It is kinda like Frank's Red Hot or Smoked Paprika...you only need a little shot to get good flavor.

I have heard of it but have never used it.  I think my mother used to put it in baked beans.

This is just like all the hoopla regarding bacon, meat, eggs;  they are terrible for you.  However, I choose to live the La Vida Loca & by golly that would be indulging in a little liquid smoke every now & then. However, not to the level I do when it is "wine-thirty"...  Bottom line, I love liquid smoke the far & few times DH & I grill.  You don't need much but to devote a show debating liquid smoke puzzles me.

Don't use it much but Colgin is the brand I use. Maybe it could be replaced with smoked salt or smoked paprika.

Thanks everyone!  I really enjoyed reading all your replies!  I bought a bottle of Liquid Smoke at the grocery store (Wright's Hickory) and tried it on a hamburger I made in the oven and it came out pretty good.  I used very little so I couldn't really taste a very strong flavor, I might use a little bit more next time.

Try one of those pump oil sprayers, they are amazing.  You just have to remember to loosen the lid and wipe the sprayer off and retighten the lid to keep it working.
