I have sets of Cooks Essentials pots and pans- but they're the older ones (before all the colors and such) They always were advertised as Lifetime warranty- but has anyone tried to return whole sets of them? Many of mine are are losing their Teflon( never used metal utensils and never cooked on high) But I don't have receipts for so long ago and also a set was gift from mother who passed away--- One time I DID return ONE piece a long time ago- but they didn't carry open stock (and I'm sure they don't now either) they offered a "reduced" refund. That's not "lifetime" warranty in my book and I certainly can't afford to buy all new. I like the sizes, the special lids I have, the huge chicken fryer- but frankly- it irks me that they can't replace them and how can they claim lifetime warranty if they can't replace them? Just venting and curious to know if anyone has ever tried and succeeded to get whole sets replaced.

This reminds me of the days of Art Krull who hawked his Ultrex cookware on HSN. He had a 75 year warranty, stating that what is a Lifetime Warranty-who's lifetime? Well his company went belly up and HSN wouldn't honor the warranties, so alot of people were stuck with defective cookware. (Ultrex was to HSN what Cook's Essential's is to QVC.) Can't say what QVC will do with yours now.

I have returned numerous pieces of CE, but not entire sets. In the past (rather distant) they didn't make me ship back the baking pieces, and sent out entirely new sets, and I was surprised about that.

For the cookware, though, I had to call customer service, and they had to go back through the archives of my order history (took a week) to verify I had purchased the items, then they called me back with return instructions and I had to pay shipping to get them back to them. They never have the same pieces you purchased, so they 'substitute' something similar, and now your matched cookware doesn't match any more, and you have a kitchen full of mixed matched (Thanks, I could have done that at Walmart).

They also don't care if your piece was multi functional like it was the base for adding a steamer basket, an egg poacher etc, because the new one they send won't fit those 'attachments', and now those are useless too. They also don't have any replacements for some of the really unique sizes and shapes they once carried.

No more CE for me. The older stuff was much better made, and for the cost of shipping back and getting a much cheaper unmatched replacement, I'll just go to the store and pick out something new.

Same here. I had a set from years ago. The inner layer was worn, (hand-washed, plastic utensils). You have to deal with CS and get instructions. Box it up and return it at your cost. They can only send you their current colors and pieces-if your old stuff is discontinued-you're out of luck. So, the warranty is just a sales gimmick.
