I bought the Lenox 18/10 stainless set (H196303) in the devoted pattern and it is beautiful. I use this as my everyday and also for company. My guests usually comment on the weight and how solid and substantial they are.

I think they are much nicer and heavier than Oneida, which I have owned in the past and liked. This set is in the continental size as opposed to the American size and I prefer the larger size. I have only seen Oneida in the American size.

I will only buy flatware in 18/10 stainless. I throw them in the dishwasher, no babying and they come up perfect everytime.

One other thing, the reason I chose this particular set is I like the additional pieces. This set includes cocktail & dessert forks as well as iced tea spoons. I use all of these pieces. Some other sets buy Leno or Reed & Barton instead include steak knives. For me, the long spoons and small forks are more functional.

I think as long as you stick with an 18/10 set, you won't be disappointed.

LOL. Great minds think along the same lines. This is the exact set I am tempted to purchase. Thank you.

BTW - I have had this set for over a year now and they still look brand new.

I own 3 sets of Oneida silverplate flatwear + chests, one for each of my sons if/when they marry or have their own homes. Just realized once the boys leave home (youngest is just 15), I'll not have anything except stainless myself.

Several times I've been tempted to purchase flatware from the Q, but who wants to eat from something that is NOT a comfortable size ???

Must be because that size doesn't sell well in the regular marketplace/stores, so it's dumped onto the Q. Some Q viewers will be ANYTHING!!

LOL, well if you go to a good store you will indeed find larger silverware, which feels much nicer than cheap small silverware. Not to mention that men like the larger stuff so they can feel like they are actually holding something.

I gave my Reed & Barton and bought Lenox when it was on a TSV. I love it and so does my husband.

I agree debc. Anyone who knows flatware knows that the European (larger) sizing is what is preferred.

You are totally wrong on this one jamicajammer.

I was thinking of getting the Lenox myself. I am sort of holding back at the moment. I would LOVE to get the gold plated set if QVC ever has them. Tired of silver.

I figure at my age I deserve & ENTITLED to some goldware instead of silverware.

Here's my take on tableware - as long as they're 18/10 I'm in. I won't waste money on anything less, it's just not worth it b/c they do not hold up, they're light weight, and very flimsy/bend.

Find yourself a great pattern and go for it - enjoy your beautiful table.

i have several flatware sets.

i like a combination......the pattern i was registered for when i got married is oneida golden julliard. i am all set either way because silver OR gold accents will go with my set. it is still going strong after all these years, even with dishwashing.

I got this set as well! I have place settings for 12 of the Kate Spade New York Union Street which is VERY similar to this in pattern and weight, and also made by Lenox I think, and another long-time Lenox pattern (Vintage Jewel?).

We use it when we have a lot of people as extras, and I got the serving pieces which are great too. I think this set is an excellent buy and something you would be happy to put on the table! LOVE the small forks and tea spoons--we use the small forks for desserts and fruit all the time.

Also check out the website silversuperstore for more patterns and LOTS of information and separate pieces.
