I have a recipe that calls for 2 cans of lemon pie filling.
I sent hubby to the store for get it for me. Safeway had none! They sent him to Big Lots (?). They had none, so he walked across the way to a Food City grocery store. They had none, but a store clerk suggested he buy the powdered "pudding and pie" mix. He called me and I told him to go ahead and get a couple boxes and I'll give it a try.
First, I can't believe stores don't carry the lemon-flavored pie filling in cans!!
Second, do you think I can successfully replace the called-for canned pie filling with the prepared pudding and pie mix?
The recipe is simple....one box of angel food cake mix and 2 cans of lemon pie filling. They get mixed and then baked in a 9x12 pan. That's it.
