How is this product any better at cooking that an old fashioned Corning Ware dutch oven and it's various sizes?
I have the braiser from Corning Ware when it was made and I don't know if there's any benefit from purchasing this other brand.

I like the TSV but, I would stick with the Corning Ware Dutch Oven ... the TSV weighs 20.6 pounds without anything in it .... that is too heavy for me!!

The brand has a loyal following so if you love it and purchased it, bon appetit.
I have an enameled cast iron dutch oven I purchased at a local hardware store years ago and it still serves us well. I know Le Crueset is a lovely brand, but the day has never dawned I will spend $270 for a pan.

I hate Corniing Ware and find it difficult to clean--I usually have to get out the Bon Ami--especially the glass lids. LC pots clean up wonderfully--just don't get the heat too high and damage the interior.
I wouldn't buy the TSV for me because of the weight of the lid, and it is a pretty small pot. The next size up with the regular lid would be my choice by far. Outlets have great staff and are helpful if you want something and call them.
I had a lot of Corning Ware, but it isn't what I use now. I will take stainless steel or LC any day.

@Sooner I have no problem with my Corning ware - I use a spray non-stick product and no problem cleaning up at all - even the lids.
The weight of the LC product is a vital concern. The cost is a hard one to swallow. I won't buy things just because 'they cost a lot' and other products work as well for considerable less.

Then you probably shouldn't consider buying LC.

I personally think Le Creuset items are best as a set. I have a fairly large collection in Cobalt, and when I'm entertaining, the pieces look great on the table, over the Le Creuset trivet.
Unless you need two braisers, I don't see the point in purchasing another.

I'm glad they have options at different price points for everyone.
I'm not at the stage yet to cook for a family, but my mom instilled in me the mantra to buy once. So , I look for quality. My mom has a set of Le Creuset that I grew up with. She also has a set of cookware set from another brand she bought when she was 20 years old before she had any children.
So, if the quality remains the same, I plan to buy this brand in the near future when I begin my life as a cook for my family. I've bought one set so far from a different brand that did not last and honestly I don't want to lose my investment again (before I got married). This company has a limited lifetime warranty I believe and has been in business for 90 years. So, unless something has changed, this is the way I plan to go when I can. I'm going to explore places like TJ Maxx etc. to get them at a better price.

It probably isn't any better. With Le Creuset you pay for the name and the hype.
Watch the presentations all day and they convince you that you have to buy it.

So don't buy it.
Personally I love my Le Creuset enameled cast iron. I have some Corningware also but it's like comparing apples and oranges. They are different materials and I don't use them to perform the same functions.
