Beware in purchasing some of the Le Creuset items at QVC, I purchased the 4 petite 5 inch pie dishes which were offered at a sale price. They are now listed as sold out. These products are labeled "made in China", not France, and I do not believe that information was available in the product description. In addition, the shipping invoice states that this product is not returnable to QVC unless QVC made a mistake with the order. This also was not stated in the product description.

That's terrible. I would send them back and tell them why. You can buy that China stuff anywhere......that's not Le Creuset.

I purchased a LeCrueset casserole dish, not at QVC. When reading through the enclosed materials, I saw that the casserole dish was made in China I believe it was stamped on the bottom of the dish as well. I was so surprised thinking this product originated in France. I returned the dish.

I went to their outlet store at the Prime Outlets in Grove City, PA this summer.
The outter walls of the store with the high end pots and pans....were all made in France.
Everything else in the store (bakeware, dishes, utensils, etc) was made in Thailand!
At least it was clearly marked both on the items and the price ticket.
I was surprised as I thought they were exclusive to France.
I didn't buy anything. I wasn't interested in expensive items made in Thailand.
The 'outlet' prices on the good ones made In France were higher than QVC.

Only the enemeled cast iron pieces are made in France. Regardless of which retailer you buy them from. It has nothing to do with QVC.

Thanks so much for posting this. I too assumed all of the Le Creuset was made in France. A quick look through some of the products offered here showed that while most say Made in France -- I found several that say Imported.

Le Creusent bakeware is made in either Thailand or China. The cast iron cookware is made in France.

Exactly! That's nothing new. I have a number of pieces of LC bakeware and mine were made in Thailand. I've had them for years and they are high quality.
The difference is a company that makes sure their products are top quality. That will allow products made in Southeast Asia to be of quality if the company assures that.
Their enameled cast iron has always been made in France and the same applies, in terms of quality manufacturing.
Cheap lines make cheap products in China. That's the difference. That is why I avoid the celebrity lines and stuff like temptations, etc. You can see the difference in quality with stuff like that, that is not properly fired.

I have several of their ceramic pieces that I purchased at a great price at TJ Maxx. They have held up beautifully but I can understand if you purchased them at a LeCreuset store or outlet and paid a higher price than I did it would give me pause to know they were not made in France.

So people are posting dire warnings and accusing QVC of something nefarious because they are unfamiliar with Le Creuset's line. Blaming QVC becaue your assumptions are wrong seems unfair.
As others have stated, only the cast iron is fro France. Le Creuset makes no secret of this, and I am surprised others did not know as I have known this for years. If you want French stoneware, I believe Emile Henry is still made in France.
