Kuhn-Rikon 3-piece Decorated Nonstick Cutlery Set

I just saw a preview of this knife set while having morning coffee. The reviews are good on this set, but - does it bother anyone else like it does me?

KR knives are very sharp. Scarey sharp! I have a couple of sets, as well as German-made professional sets of knives. I use them all, all excellent tools in the kitchen.

The decorative pattern on the blades seems to me to be a bad idea for two reasons. One is that the edge of the knife, so important to focus on while chopping and cutting, is not as clearly defined, as the eye might stray a bit, teased by the pattern. Second, although I don't have young kids in the home at this time, I think knives are not something that should have colorful, playful patterns that might attract little hands when an adult is not looking.

Anyone here agree or disagree?
