Is Kombucha safe?  I have a friend who swears by this naturally fermented drink.  Then I saw an ad on the back of a magazine for a new bottled brand that was not pasteurized.  Somehow I'm hesitant.  Is this stuff safe to drink?

I drink it all the time. Buy it bottled from the grocery store. If I don't drink the whole bottle, I leave it in the refrigerator. The worst that happens is that it loses some of its fizz. Been drinking it for at least 5 years.

I drink something similar every day--Kevita Sparkling Probiotics.

I know my mother will drink the Kombucha taht Kevita makes every now and again.

I tried it once, bottled from the grocer. Made me very ill. Anytime you are messing with your gut flora it can cause problems.

A coworker made some at home following Pinterest instructions. She swears social media is the holy grail. It made her entire family ill.

Her first mistake was making any kind of recipe that was shared on Pinterest!
