Still, you can have kidney stones and not know it, right? Meanwhile, I'm just crazy for arugula and just about any kind of greens from collards to kale to lettuce.
If you have kidney stones you need to cut oxalates which spinach is high in oxalates. Oxalates are in some fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, grains even chocolate. So if you have a problem with kidney stones you need to cut the oxalates. My brother had them & was in so much pain he had to have a friend take him to the ER.

My husband gets a kidney stone everytime he eats any kind of nut. No nuts, no more kidney stones.

I like to eat a lot of fruit. I also have to eat some meat for the protein or I always feel hungry. I think foods we buy have something in them that is not good for us but you have to eat. Organic foods & grass fed beef are not an option for everyone as they are expensive & sometimes not readily available. The best foods are the veggies we grow in our garden. You know they are not sprayed with all the chemicals.

I know so many people who have jumped on the "clean eating" or "no grain" or "no gluten" bandwagon and feel it's making a positive difference in their health. I can't help thinking that these rather radical eating programs will eventually go by the wayside just like "low fat", "low carb", Atkins, or other dietary fads have for most people. I sincerely doubt many people will keep up a diet with no bread, no processed foods, no corn, no gluten (or whatever it is) for the rest of their lives. It's just so restrictive and so difficult to follow all the time!
Of course, eating more fruits and veggies, less processed foods, less sugar, less hydrogenated fats, etc. makes sense and is good for the health. But totally "clean" for ever? I doubt it.

I know I feel better and have more control over my weight when I eliminate simple carbs and eat veggie/fruit/chicken/fish diet. And when I feel better physically, I feel better emotional too. But KNOWING this and being complaint are two very different things.

Veggies - raw and cooked
But ice cream makes me feel really good too!

Everyone is different.
I know what basic foods I need to eat to be healthy & lose weight. I also know which ones I need to avoid. I've figured out my own nutrition plan & I love it. Unprocessed foods, no sugars, no starches, plenty of good fats, vegetables, and proteins. I'll eat this way forever!

OHHHHH! YESSSSS! How I love that sourdough bread! Can't have much of it, as I have Type 2 diabetes and have to watch the starches, but there's nothing better than sourdough bread and butter!
