I just got a KitchenAid for Christmas and I love it. It looks soooo pretty out on my counter. I seem to be having a problem with it, though.
I went to make a couple cheesecakes to take to a dinner last night, and I couldn't get the lumps out of the mix to save my life. I started out with the optional paddle blade that I got. It has a scraper on it for the side of the bowl. When that didn't work, I used the paddle blade that came with it. Then I tried the whipper and all I got were smaller lumps. I let it run for about 5 minutes. I finally gave up and decided to finish it off with my cheapy hand mixer, and it came out perfect.
Tonight I made a chocolate cake for my hubby to take to work with him tomorrow. The cake batter came out no problem after running for two minutes. but when I went to pour the mixture into the pan, there was some unmixed cake mix at the bottom of the bowl. Then when I made the frosting, it just didn't want to mix up correctly.
I know that these are wonderful machines so I am SURE that it's user error. I'm not a fantastic baker yet, but I am trying. So I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on how to work it better. Should I find more attachments?
