While I like the look of the single sinks, I decided against it for myself. I realized that I would have to keep a dishpan or something similar on hand for those occasional times that I do need to handwash some things. For instance, I handwash pots & pans, as well as my good knives.

Good luck with your kitchen re-do...we finished ours about 2 years ago (did it in stages over 18 months) and it was worth every penny!

Storing a plastic dishpan is definitely a con for me.  Thanks.

Chickenbutt -- I had a wonderful old sink in the house where my kids grew up.  It had two large, deep bowls and then a small prep sink with the garbage disposal in the middle.  Even if I could find that style again, it would be too large for the available space.

I find remodeling stressful actually.

tansy, if you need to relax you are more than welcome to stop by.  Absolutely no remodeling going on over here . . , it's all avocado paint and copper appliances . . . Smiley Happy

You'd better lock up those copper appliances, mtc!  I'm on my way over to your place and LOVE copperCat LOL

Tansy, right now I have a giallo napoleone sample by daltile on my countertop. I also needed some cream color. The sample also has some traces of brown, gold and gray in it. I think I've found what I was looking for in it. I, too, find remodeling stressful. It was fun in my younger years, but not so much now.

When I had new quartz countertops installed (Silestone Lagoon), I wanted a new under mount sink & wanted a large deep single, so I found a SS sink that is a heavier gauge, so it's not as noisy as my previous thin gauge double that both sides were too small.  I use my dishwasher, so I wanted a large sink where I could wash larger pots & pans that are too big to go into the dishwasher.  I've had this sink for nearly 2 years now & love it.  It also came with a SS grid sink mat that I like a lot.

Wow Tansy, if you took a poll on this I think you'd end up at a dead 50-50!

I've had both the single bowl of a decent size (not huge) and double sinks that were equal on each side or one side smaller, one side bigger (current config).

I'd take the single sink all day, and if we remoded our current abode I'll switch back to a single sink. There are some lovely offerings out there.

The Lagoon is really pretty.

My mother had a SS sink and she would go bonkers if a drop of water went into the sink, so that colors my feelings about SS, which I realize is not totally rational on my part at my ageCat EmbarassedCat Embarassed

I use my Breville oven more than the big one anyway, mtc.  I like the induction burner, too.

I have a double sink.  I don't know the brand; but it came from Lowe's.  It's an almond color and even though I'm careful it does scratch some.  I just take Bars Firend and the scratches come off immediately.
