Keurig vs Cuisinart

What is the difference between the two? Is Cuisinart a subsidiary of Keurig? I would like to purchase a coffee maker, but don't know which to choose. If they are the same, which one is the most economical? Can you use any K-cups in the Cuisinart? Any experience you can share would be most appreciated. Any suggestions on what store to purchase either? Are the ones at the big box stores seconds or returns or first run? Which has the best return policy? Which company has the best replacement/guarantee on their product?
What, in your experience, are the pluses and/or minuses?
