I have a Keurig single cup coffee maker and I'm disappointed.  Using the coffee pods the taste is just OK so I decided to try ground coffee using the My K-Cup reusable coffee filter.  This wasn't much better.  It sputters and sprits and leaves coffee grounds all over, even in the perked coffee.  I did weight how much coffee is in the pod and used approx. the same amount in the filter.  The coffee just doesn't taste as good as the original big Keurig and it's certainly not the same as coffee from my Farberware 4 cup electric pot.  Am I doing something wrong or is this the way these smaller units work?

Can't help you--don't have any coffee maker.  I'm happy with my Folger's instant--LOL!!

@coffee drinker.  I'd  call Keurig CS  and describe the problem to them.  Your unit may be defective and, if so, they'll probably replace it.

@coffee drinker, you are doing nothing wrong. Unfortunately, the single server Kuerig's do make a mess. I have to clean up around mine every morning after making my coffee.

It sounds like it might be clogged inside. Did you run the descaler thru the machine in the last month or so? How old is the coffee maker? Try running a few hot water only and then your pod/coffee. Hope one of these work for you.

@Kachina624 Thanks for the suggestion.  I will call Monday -- wonder what they'll do.

@Fressa Don't know how it could be clogged since the unit is less than 3 months old and I make 1 cup a day, sometimes 2, but not often.  I'm going to call Monday as @Kachina624 stated.  That should be an interesting call.

Good luck with CS.  We've had quite a few of the Keurig and Breville machines and one was a "dud". They did send a new machine.

@coffee drinker

I have a Keurig mini and there is absolutely no spitting or grounds or any other kind of mess.  That's whether I use the K-cups or the little cup that you put your own ground coffee in.  Something is either wrong with your machine or maybe user error.

@coffee drinker

 We've been using the mini (it's the only type we've ever owned) for many years (on our 2nd one) and don't have that issue unless there's a clog (happens, but rarely) and use it several times a day most everyday.

Might want to try running a cup of vinegar and then several cups of water through (without a coffee pod, of course) to try and clean it, sounds like there may be a blockage.
