My daughter is giving me a new Keorig coffee maker like hers, it has a part to make regular coffee too with ground coffee, and the other side for pods.  I like hers, and the pods she has, so here she bought me one, it should be here tonight, and she also bought me some pods, coffee and tea ones, and it's my early Christmas gift from her.  I can hardly wait to use it!!  When we have cards with our card club, we play one couple a month either here or there at their place, and they usually have a Keorig and easy to make just one cup of coffee, where here I would be making a whole pot and not using it all.

So -  Those of you who have one, how do you like it?

Any tips for me?  What kind of coffees are good in it? What she gave me was her kind - Donut Shop regular medium roast. And a lot of different teas.  Apple Cider is wonderful!! Also some Apple Caramel.

Measureing ground coffee for the fill it yourself pod can be annoying and difficult to get the correct amount

I think she means that one side uses pods and the other side makes a regular pot of coffee.  I don't believe she's talking about fill it yourself pods.

I can't answer your question because I just have a Keurig mini, which suits my needs perfectly.  Enjoy your new machine!

I'be been using mine for about two years.  I love it and haven't had any issues with the machine.  However, I bought a couple of plastic fill yourself pods and had issues with those.  I've learned how much to fill the pod easily, but the plastic lid on the pod wears out the doesn't seal properly causing grounds to get in the cup.  Last week I bought a metal pod with a snap on lid that completely fixed the problem.  I bought it from amazon for $7.

My favorite coffee is Seattle's Best followed by Starbucks medium roast.  Buying the ground bags is much more cost effective.  I can buy them on sale for about $5 with a coupon.  A bag will last me a month because I'm not a heavy coffee drinker.

I also go to TJMaxx and buy bottles of Torani flavored syrups to add to my coffee and creamer.  It's easy to switch up the flavor that way instead of having different creamers taking room up in my fridge.  I make iced coffee with them also.

Re: Keorig Coffee Maker

[ Edited ]

I have my first Keurig since around 2017, still going strong. I don't make

coffee every day though. But when I do, I use any pods usually light to

medium roast. I tried the grounds when I had a can of coffee and used

the little fill cup but I don't like messing with the grounds anymore.

The K cups you can get anywhere these days. Doesn't have to be just

an official Keurig cup. I even buy the ice coffee cups.

My favorite is probably the Dunkin Strawberry flavored and I enjoy any

coconut brand too.

Hope you enjoy yours!

Re: Keorig Coffee Maker

I've had mine for about a year and a half.  Only my daughter and I drink coffee and only one mug each in the morning.  Neither of us enjoy coffee at other times of the day, so it's only used in the morning.  We like a bold cup of coffee and use (Costco's) Kirkland Pacific Bold coffee pods.  It's a delicious rich coffee.  It's not weak tasting nor is it too strong.   Just right!

Some people have had issues descaling certain Keurig models, but so far, I haven't had that issue.

I have a single serve machine and only use pods. Works great for me as I only have one cup every morning.

SouthenBee - that's it! Exactly what I got tonight!!  She showed me how to use it, and I made some apple caramel and apple cider, and it was so good!!  In the morning I will be using the carafe for 8 cups for my husband and me.  And during the day I will use some pods for either coffee or teas.  She bought me a good supply of coffees and teas too.  That is my early Christmas gift from her. Nice having it already.

Thanks everyone for your responses.  I don't know if I will try to use the plastic pod thing to put grounds in, being I have the carafe to use.

I am enjoying the coffee maker a lot.  I make 10 cups in the morning for my husband and me in the pot, and I follow that with teas, and enjoying the different kinds that my daughter gave me, she got an assortment from Amazon.

I'm thinking of trying to get thos fillers, like the kind that snap on, a metal pod, does it have a name?
