KITCHENAID 3.5QT MINI STAND MIXER

I'm considering donating my 4.5qt stand mixer 'cause it's SO HEAVY, I seldom use it.  I'm not much for cooking, but like a mixer for cake mixes, making cookies, mashed potatoes, etc. so I think the new mini might be just right for me.

Would appreciate your feedback if you have this item or know someone who has one.

@eddyandme

I don't have one....but there are reviews on Amazon and Williams/Sonoma for that size, and for other mixers that use the glass bowl.

The reivews on THIS website (QVC) appear dated. I think this might be an older offering....they only had a few colors when it was on recently....

Also read about that glass bowl...on the W/S site, that bowl was soundly trounced in quality, weight and ease of use.  That was on larger mixers, but still. Consider the weight.

Hope you find what you're looking for!  And donating the old one makesa great use out it....

Re: KITCHENAID 3.5QT MINI STAND MIXER

@eddyandme   I also need to pass my heavy mixer to someone who can use it safely, so for a minute I considered the mini.  Then sanity ruled and I decided to buy a new mixing bowl and use the mixers I never thrifted when I bought the big Kitchen Aid.

I have limited counter space and limited cabinet space and am expecting my solution to work well for me.

Re: KITCHENAID 3.5QT MINI STAND MIXER

I have a tilt head KitchenAid that is at least 48 years old.  I use it often, but I also use a hand mixer that I paid $10 for.

I have two KA hand mixers, but they aren't as powerful as my cheapo one.

If you only want to make cakes and mashed potatoes, why do you need an expensive mixer?

There are plenty of hand held mixers as well as stand mixers that are less expensive and will work for light use.

Thanks @Othereeeen.  Never though of checking WS.

Began checking reviews here, but the Q posted mostly reviews from the vendor's promotion, which imho should never be included.

I have the glass bowl for the 4.5 Qt Tilt-Head.  I bought it separately.  I really like it.  It is heavy, but I see nothing wrong with it quality-wise. I don't mind that it's heavy.  I still use cast iron too. I never use the stainless bowl. My only issue with it is it doesn't seem to lock in as well as the stainless bowl did.
