KA mixer FP attachment or stand alone FP with dicing kit?

Ok I can't decide which one to buy. I've wanted a dicer forever. I just can't decide if I should get the Kitchenaid food processor attachment for my mixer K41515 or the stand alone Kitchenaid food processor with dicing kit K42600.

I already own a 16 cup Cuisinart Elite food processor and it works fine. So I have been leaning towards just getting the mixer attachment as it's less space and slightly cheaper. However, if seems like the stand alone food processor K42600 works better. And you don't have to worry about liquids getting into the housing like you do with the mixer attachment version. Plus it comes with the julienne blade and you can get additional blades for french fries and parmesan/ice ( not that I need the ice one I have a Vitamix) K42603.

we have the stand alone kitchen aid food processer  with the dicing kit. it works awesome. its a 13 cup. being you have a 16 cup processer i would recomend you getting the dicing attachment for your stand mixer.

Re: KA mixer FP attachment or stand alone FP with dicing kit?

I purchased the stand alone KA food processor when it first came our with the french fry blade and slice selector which looks similar to the dicing one. About a month after the warranty expired the lever that selects the thickness of slices broke off (it was on thin thank goodness which was what I used most ) I would be wary of that.

I have the FP with dicing kit and I use it daily.  I love it!  The dicing kit is perfect.  I make a lot of soups/stir fry and this makes prep so quick.  I never want to be without it.

Thanks for the reviews so far. Still open to more responses. I haven't made a decision yet.
