Re: K47238 FoodSaver FreshSaver

I have a FoodSaver GameSaver (I don't hunt, but it is by far the most robust machine for its pricepoint) and purchase bags on Amazon made by a company called OutOfAir. They're a bit cheaper than the brand-name bags, and they're a bit thicker as well. They also come in great configurations of quart and gallon bags so I don't end up with a bunch of sizes I don't need. I used to always buy the rolls, but I found that I was much more likely to consistently use the machine if I could save the few extra minutes of not sizing and cutting bags when packing up bulk items for freezing.

If you're interested, especially with all the sales and deals going on leading up to Prime Day next week, I recommend putting the bags in your cart for a day or two to see how/if the price fluctuates--sometimes the patience of a day yields a few dollars in savings. Happy food saving!

I don't have the Gamesaver machine but I do use the Gamesaver bags because I like that they are thicker. I freeze a lot of meat like steaks and ribs that have bones and the bones are less likely to stick through the thicker bags. And I can buy just the 8 inch rolls which I use by far most of the time. I've bought so many combo boxes of rolls from Costco that I think I have a lifetime supply of the 11 inch rolls.
