Re: Just wanted to post again about my Temptations negative dangerous experiences as a precaution for consumer usage

Thank you for the reminder. This needs to be kept front and center. Has anyone ever discussed the issue on-air with Tara?

Re: Just wanted to post again about my Temptations negative dangerous experiences as a precaution for consumer usage

I saw a cherry pie dish on a recipe blog and really wanted it because it reminded me of pieces in my grandmother's kitchen. I was surprised to find out it was Temp-tations, but I went ahead and bought the rectangular small baker and the bowl after getting the cute pie dish.

I mentioned it on Viewpoints and heard a lot about the serious problems with the line, so I decided to use mine for serving dishes only. No cooking. So far, I've only used the bowl for salads and hope it doesn't have problems.

REPORT PRODUCTS YOU FEEL ARE DANGEROUS TO THE CONSUMER PRODUCTS SAFETY COMMISSION. THEY INVESTIGATE AND RECALL UNSAFE PRODUCTS. JUST POSTING IS GOOD FOR WARNING OTHERS, BUT A FORMAL REPORT IS EASY TO DO ON THEIR GOVERNMENT WEBSITE. JUST DO AN INTERNET SEARCH, AND YOU WILL FIND THEM.

adoreqvc, I'm so glad you took the time to write about these problems with Temptations bakeware. I have read all the negative reviews of them on these boards and there is no way I would buy one. And, frankly, I don't know why anyone would buy them now. They are an accident waiting to happen. They should be recalled by the company.

bigsister, What's even more sad, is QVC would still sell these dangerous products.! Kind of says what's most important to them!

I have had similar problems with two pieces. I was baking refrigerator biscuits on a lid it and when I pulled it out of the oven it broke in half. My larger baking dish also cracked in half after pulling it out if the oven. Fortunately it cracked after I put it on the counter. I only use them for serving now and don't buy them anymore.

I was thinking about this from yesterday. I wonder about the temperatures that these products seem to be breaking under. Too hot or too cold? Older ones or newer ones, or doesn't it matter?

I have some older ones I bake in, but I doubt it gets above the 350 to 375 degree temps.

So that's some of my questions. Makes me want to ditch what I do have. One has a crackly look to the paint on it, but not actual cracking. It's not flaking or chipping, etc.

First I will say that I do not own any TT. I was thinking seriously about buying a set but, decided to do my own research on it being making a purchase. So glad I did. After reading about others experiences with TT including the product cracking, chipping, crazing, (that is the "crackly" look you mention), breaking and actually breaking in two while being taken out of a hot oven filled with food I decided NO WAY! Then I read you have to worry about temps. Too hot or too cold will cause cracks. I don't have time to worry about this kind of stuff and don't want to spend my money on a product that is not quality and carefree and most importantly SAFE for me and my family. I know you can buy what looks like a lot of product for a little money....but, I am not looking for quantity....I want high quality, SAFE products!!!

Since your events are so well documented, where are the pictures?

Excellent point. There are many pictures of them being used for special dinners, events, celebrations, those who celebrate holidays or festivities. Those photos, too.
