My cousin rented a 6 bedroom, 3 bath house on the river front for the weekend. It was located on Wilmington Island. It had 3 sitting areas and 2 eating areas and a big kitchen. It was so nice. We had 16 relatives from GA and NC there.

Places we ate at:

Calabash, NC The Seafood Hut, gotta eat there. Lunch is 11:00 to 4:00. Drove 3 hours to get there at 3:50 and got the lunch special for Wed. Fried Flounder and fried shrimp. It was sooo good. Hot out of the grease.!!! They are closed on Mondays.

Savannah, GA Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House We got in line at 10:00 for the 11:00 seating. We sat at the first table. This is where the President and Racheal Ray sat!!! We enjoyed the family style meal. But the guy to my right wouldn't pass the food around!! He'd serve his plate and put the dish down. When we left the line was around the block. It is only open M-F from 11:00 to 2:00. I got a cookbook from here.

Uncle Bubba's I had the Seafood Duo I wanted Fried Fish and Shrimp. It was really good.

Back in the Day Bakery. To die for Chocolate Chip Cookies and Cheryl's Brownies are the best. I also got a signed cookbook. I got to meet Cheryl and Griff. I told her I'd give her an A+ on the chocolate chip cookies.

Leopold's Ice Cream I had a scoop of banana and a scoop of chocolate chip, YUM!!

Kitchen on the Square all sorts of neat kitchen items and they had a cooking demo going on with Shrimp and Grits.

We cooked a low country boil at the house Sat. night with potatoes, corn, sausage, onions, and 8 pounds of shrimp. We fed 16 people for $130.00.

Sunday Brunch at 11:00 at Paula Deens The Lady and Sons. It wasn't what I call brunch foods, just Southern Cooking. Fried Chicken, Baked Chicken, Pork in BBQ sauce, Rice and Mashed Potatoes, Gravy and assorted veggies. Peach cobbler, Banana Pudding and Vanilla Gooey Butter Bar. It was really good. Then we said our goodbyes and started the 7 1/2 hour trip home. Go home about 9:00. Sure glad my brother drove home!!!
