Just found out about this Cast Iron Cleaner :)

Do a search for The Ringer XL Cast Iron Cleaner, it scrubs and scrapes cast iron pots, pans, and skillets clean. Looks like it will last forever!! Smiley Happy Smiley Happy

I don't think my pan needs it, but I'll keep it in mind ... added to my wishlist!

The listing on Amazon says

"Kitchen Sponges are 200,000 times dirtier than a toilet seat with 10,000,000 bacteria per square inch!"

We have Lodge Cast Iron skillets and a grill. We follow the Use & Care instructions on their website. They are simple and don't require any special cleaners.

I wouldn't call the Ringer a special cleaner. Did you look at it?

I want someone to try it and report back. It seems like plain steel wool (no soap) would be just as effective.

I would never want to scrape a cast iron skillet! You ruin the seasoning of the pan. I have some Le Creuset cleaner that I purchased when I bought my pot...cleans but is not damaging to the cast iron.

It's not a cleaning product as in being a soap, it's a chainmail scrubbing pad made of stainless steel.

I don't need to clean the inside of my cast iron, it is well seasoned but how do I clean the outside and bottom, there is some build up crusty 'stuff' I'd like to clean......any suggestions?
