Just Did a Comparison With My VM and Blendtec

Out of curiousity, I did a comparison using heating water for a period of time with my Vitamix 3hp and the Blendtec with 5 sided container and the results were quite convincing..

Let 5 cups of water sit for a few minutes to equilibrate and then poured 2 cups into the Vitamix and 2 cups into the Blendtec... took their temps and they were both 80.4F.. I then chose to run on the highest speed for 2 minutes and then check temperatures.

The 3hp Vitamix after 2 minutes was 107F and the motor ran continuously for that time

The Blendtec was not able to do 2 minutes without shutting off twice at the highest setting after about 45 seconds and having to restart from off 2x to get the 2 minutes on high which I estimate was really about 114 seconds... YET the temperature that was achieved after these 114 seconds was 131.8F this is a very significant difference and showed me that indeed the Blendtec is very efficient.

Although I have a couple of VM machines, I find myself using the Blendtec for most tasks however either machine is great.

I do not know about the TSV 2.25 VM but I would be curious to see how it performed using the same container as my 3 hp VM as certainly a smaller container would skew the results. Curiously, the 5 sided container of the Blendtec actually has more total volume than the VM which should have lowered the temp a bit. I imagine if the test was conducted with containers with the same volume the Blendtec would have still higher temps...
