Mostly I love fruitcake.  But I've tasted some that weren't up to par.  Must be moist and full of candied fruit.  I don't care about the presence of alcohol one way or the other.

I always order a small Fruit Cake from Harry & David at Christmas time for my husband.

He's welcome to all of it because I do not like fruit cake.  He makes it last for quite a while because he just eats a small piece with his coffee for a snack.

I have always loved a good fruitcake. I make my fruitcake using the recipe from a Beautiful Plate. Dh's aunt loved this cake so much, she always asked for 2. She would keep in fridge until Valentine's. Sigh, I miss her so much.

I have 4 loaves aging in the fridge now. I will keep one until Valentine's Day and have some in her memory.

No to any kind of fruitcake! I remember my grandma buying the coveted fruitcake from the A&P and then basting the thing for weeks with brandy while in the fridge apparently to keep it fresh? Although with all that brandy in it I imagine it was sufficiently preserved, LOL.
