Junior's just announced that it has sold the building in Brooklyn where they have been for decades. The building will be turned into condos and Junior's may occupy the ground floor for their retail business. Don't know how this will affect the cheesecakes they sell through QVC

Re: Junior's Cheesecakes news

I guess they will contract with a bakery to make the cheesecakes under the Junior's label.

Re: Junior's Cheesecakes news

I am not trying to be a negative "NELLIE", but Jr's has never been a product I have had that tasted good.......and PRICE is not the problem......just guess I keep getting a bad batch.....to the point that I now make my own.........but I do understand the concept of ready made, from such a wonderful place, as many feel that it is......Guess it just is not for me........I guess they can be such a "ROOT" for such a high rise............Cool

Re: Junior's Cheesecakes news

I just saw this on my local news and they were interviewing Allen Rosen. He said the building has not been sold yet, but when it is (and after construction is finished), Junior's will still be there.

Re: Junior's Cheesecakes news

I've always felt he had another "off site" location for baking, in addition to his original shop. I mean when you stop to think of it, he operated for years in his present home, from which he also had a mail order market. And then along comes QVC and the volume they order is outrageous sometimes. Especially around or near the holidays. I don't imagine his store and present location would have been able to keep up with thousands of cakes too often. It's possible he'll deal out of that other place, if he has one, but his little restaurant/shop I don't know about.
