@Black Cat Back   I too think that the $80+ is too much.  I got one last year for just over $62, and my son's family liked it so much, I bought them one, and it was around $70 last year.  I was going to send him one for his bday last week, but when I saw the price tag, it was too much for me to justify.

It's good, but I recently purchased some cheesecake bites at Sams Club for just over $16 for almost 3 pounds in the frozen section and they were quite good, so I guess, unless I'm making it myself, I'll be getting some at Sams.

And, by the way, you can get a recipe for Juniors online.  It's more work then the one that I make myself, but it's very good, and a lot less expensive.

Yes they are so good for an amazing price...I sometimes get these to add to the dessert table at Thanksgiving and Christmas time....

When I want cheesecake, I make my own.  Even non-ketoers like it.

@Black Cat Back  Go to your local diner for cheesecake.  You can purchase by the slice or buy the whole thang!

And if there is a Cheesecake Factory restaurant in your hood, check them out.

I agree $80 is high for a cheesecake.  I ordered a Jrs. cheesecake from QVC eons ago, we weren't overly impressed.  I agree with the person who mentioned the cake bottom, we didn't care for it.ce

I haven't made a cheesecake in quite awhile.  Once Satan takes his weather back I'll have to make one.  I made a peach amaretto cheesecake many years ago for a party.  DD still talks about that dessert.

I can't find the exact recipe to save my life.

Everyone,  I love cheesecake to the top but I have to say I have a recipe that my mother in law years ago shared with me from her 1965 Homes and Gardens Recipe Book that I kept for years.  The amount of eggs and cream cheese are so well worth it to make.  When she passed away the book went to my sister in law so I wrote it down and then lost it.  I finally bought a 1965 golden edition from someone online   and kept it and used that recipe several times since.  It truly is well worth the time and effort to make.  Tomorrow I will make it the point to post the recipe.  I have never posted pictures and recipes from a book but I will try.  Juniors is a good company but they do have to make it work in these horrific times. Love all your posts🥰

I am so sorry I didn't post this sooner but I could not figure out to post from my 1965 recipe book but I found it on line and posting the recipe.

Cheesecake Supreme

(From Better Homes And Gardens New Cookbook, 1962 Ed.)

A truly spectacular dessert. Filling’s smooth and creamy, the crust almost like a lemon cookie. On top, beautiful strawberry glaze and fruit.

Make Crust:
1 cup sifted flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1/2 cup butter
1 slightly beaten egg yoke
1/4 teaspoon vanilla

Combine flour, sugar and peel.
Cut in butter til mixture is crumbly.
Add egg yolks and vanilla. Blend thoroughly.
Pat 1/3 of dough on bottom of 9 inch spring form pan, sides removed.
Bake in hot oven(400) about 8 minutes or til golden; cool.
Attach sides to bottom, butter and pat remaining dough on sides to height of 1 and 3/4 in.

Make Filling:
5- 8oz packages cream cheese
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1 and 3/4 cups sugar
3 Tablespoons all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 or 5 eggs (1 cup)
2 egg yokes
1/4 cup whipping cream

Let cream cheese stand at room temperature to soften (1 to 1.5 hours). Beat creamy.
Add vanilla and lemon peel.
Mix sugar flour and salt and gradually blend into cheese.
Add eggs and egg yokes one at a time, beating after each just to blend.
Gently stir in whipping cream.

To Bake:
Turn into crust lined pan.
Bake at 450 for 12 minutes;
Reduce heat to 300 and continue baking 55 minutes.
Remove from oven; cool.
Loosen sides with spatula after 1/2 hour.
Remove sides at end of hour.
Allow to cool 2 hours longer.
Glaze with Strawberry Glaze OR Pineapple Glaze and sliced fruit
Serves 12.

Strawberry Glaze  (this is the one I always use)
2 or 3 cups fresh strawberries
1 cup water
1 and 1/2 Tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar

Crush 1 cup of strawberries; add the water and cook 2 minutes; sieve.
Mix cornstarch with sugar (amount of sugar depends on sweetness of berries);
Stir into hot berry mixture. Bring to boiling, stirring constantly.
Cook and stir till thick and clear. (add a few drops of red food coloring if needed.)
Cool to room temperature.
Place remaining strawberries atop cooled cheesecake; circle with halved pianaple rings if desired.
Pour glaze over over strawberries and chill about 2 hours.

Hi All,  I am posting this to bring attention to the Cheesecake Supreme I posted.  It is below my post from August 2nd.  That is an awsome recipe.  I hope you can make this and the glazes are super easy to prepare.  I am sure you can use frozen strawberries if fresh is not available.  I get my strawberries from BJ's which are organic and taste like they were just picked!

As a native new Yorker and lover of cheesecake, I always thought Juniors was way overrated. So easy to make your own, and tastes better too!
