Jill has expensive taste...Rao's sauce is almost $7 a jar here in Buffalo!

Gloria, sorry I have not made this, but I am going to try it, too. Very interested in an easy slow cooker pasta dish and this sounds like just the ticket.

As far as Rao's sauce goes, I buy a Rao's eggplant pasta sauce at Kroger that is fantastic. I use it when I make eggplant parmesan and it is sooooooooo good....well worth the bucks for this particular flavor to me!

Gloria -

The Rao's sauces come in 24 oz. jars, if that will help you.

I prefer my own sauce that uses natural ingredients but occasionally use a bottled sauce for convenience. I splurge for Rao's, but Giada's from Target is terrific. At one time, it was near the top for ratings.

This sounds so good. You could even make a few substitutions and make it mexican. Maybe use mexican cheese instead of mozarella and use taco seasoning instead of the italian seasoning. Not sure what you would use in place of the pasta sauce. Maybe a jar of salsa. Then top it off with sour cream.

Re: Jill's Cheesy Slow Cooker Pasta Bake

Reporting back that we did make it this weekend and we thought it was very good. I used ground sausage instead of beef. I would only comment that around the edges it was a bit dry. This may depend on the slow cooker.
