January 2012 - What's Cooking?

Well, let's just get this newest of years off and running. I trust everyone had a safe and sane New Year's Eve. Everyone ready for another year of great eating?

The neighborhood was very quiet - noticed a couple of families were gone so obviously they did their partying elsewhere - that's good. Actually was surprised as you almost always hear one firecracker go off and some noise, but nary a thing last night. Only excitement was my old rescued Cocker Bailey, somehow had gotten the entire package - the BIG package - of puperoni treats off the table and onto the floor - he ate almost the entire bag and his tummy has really been portruding. He had to go out three times during the night and is drinking a lot of water. He has done this a couple times before and I cannot figure how they get on the floor. Am beginning to think he has convinced one of the cats to get involve as they can get up there. Ahhh, a mystery. At any rate he did not get fed his dinner last night and I suspect he is not real comfortable but obviously had a great time eating them.

I have my black eyed peas on and shortly will get the collards in the pot but not quite yet. About noon or so am going to San Bernardino to get Tessa and Davey and then we shall head home and I will fix some cornbread and we will pig out.
